Laser Tattoo Removal
Effective and Safe Solution for Multi-Colored Tattoos
What is Laser Tattoo Removal?
Tattoo removal using methods such as cutting the tattoo out, scrubbing the tattoo off using a motorized metal brush or acid peels are a thing of the past. Lasers now offer a better, more patient-friendly solution! Laser tattoo removal has become the standard treatment for tattoo removal because it offers an effective alternative that is low risk, bloodless and has minimal side effects. With laser now even the most complex multi-colored tattoos can be removed.
How does LTR work?
With the right laser, all common tattoo colors can be removed, black and dark tones, blues and sky blues, reds and tans, and greens. Laser affects the tattoo with very short and strong laser pulses that penetrate deep into the skin, without injuring the top layers. These pulses are then absorbed by the pigments in the ink which breaks them up into smaller particles. These are then naturally absorbed by the body’s own immune system.
Benefits
Safe and effective, no bleeding or scars, removes all tattoo colors for amateur and professional tattoos, no anesthesia, minimal side effects.
Process & Treatment
The number of treatments depends on the size of your tattoo as well as its location, depth, and color. This can be anywhere from 4-6+ treatments.
There is some immediate results noticed, while the tattoo will also lighten over time and with multiple treatments.
15-60 minutes
We recommend that all patients contact the clinic to schedule a 30 mins assessment with our laser technician.
Your safety is our first priority. The consultation will include a brief medical or any relevant aesthetic history and you’ll have the opportunity to discuss your treatment goals, concerns, and any questions about the procedure.
A detailed series of photographs will be taken at every visit to compare your results to your baseline pictures, as well as monitoring progression of results.
Same day treatment is often not possible as an hour of topical freezing is required before the treatment. If you were considering a same day treatment, please discuss this when booking your appointment.
Upon arriving at the clinic for your appointment, our front office team will take a set of baseline photos and bring you to the lounge room to prepare for the treatment, and your service provider will meet with you shortly after. A topical anaesthetic cream will need to be applied for one hour before the treatment time. They will ensure you understand the procedure, make sure your skin is adequately prepared, and bring you to one of our laser rooms after.
You will receive very specific guidelines during the booking.
Tattoo removal by laser feels like a rubber band snapping the skin. The tattoo will fade slowly between treatments as your body removes the remainders of the tattoo pigment.
Photographs may be done immediately after the procedure. You will also receive specific after-care directions. The most important of these is avoiding direct sun exposure, compliance to SPF application and re-application.
Tattoo removal pricing depends on the area being treated. The best way to find out pricing is to call the office or discuss during a consultation.
